Ed Richardson [VJ Edit]: Visuals (January 2010)

Home Town: Harrogate, North Yorkshire.
Day Job: Digital Artist / New Media Producer.
Email: ed(at)alucidnation.co.uk

Bruce and I met at Harrogate Art College in the late 1980s, and an initially rocky relationship developed into a lasting one because of a whole range of mutual interests, one of these being moving and still imagery. Consequently, I've worked closely with Bruce to develop our own style of supporting visuals for alucidnation at the The Big Chill Festivals for the last 8 years (amongst others).

The imagery used in the VJ sets for alucidnation is predominantly sourced from Bruce's personal photographic archives. This we feel keeps the whole live AV experience balanced and relevant to the performance as a whole.

After investing in a Canon EOS500d, my passion for photography has increased dramatically... Check out my photo gallery

I use Acid Studio Pro for my mixes...There's a limit to how much kit I can fit into my home studio and I'm certainly well shy of Bruce's vast Vinyl & CD collection, let alone a decent set of decks! So I'm sticking with this nifty bit of software for my audio work.

I put the original track basics together in Acid Pro in my home studio in Harrogate. It was subsequently remastered and embellished by Bruce in his London studio over a two day period. It's a working methodology that works for us; separate studios at opposite sides of the UK, connected by fast broadband connections (hence the collaboration name 'broadbend') to communicate and transfer the working audio files.
