Deep Aquatic Sound

Artec is the musical project of Stuart Nisbet and Bruce Bickerton.

Having known one another since they were ten and sharing a deep love of all types of music, it seemed only natural that these two would write music together, albeit sporadically.

They've been writing since 1994, and some of their work culminated in the 2002 album, imaginitively titled 'artec'. On the strength of one legendary DJ appearance together at the Dogstar in Brixton, London, the duo were booked to appear on a mini-tour out in South Korea in 2002. Although the Artec project is primarily studio-based, both members still DJ out either together and/or individually on a regular basis.

The music they produce can be described as an enveloping wall of sound with infectious rhythms and catchy hooks. It's attracted the attention of such prolific producers as Tom Middleton and Lars Sandberg [aka Funk D'Void] amongst others and artec tracks have surfaced on compilations and film soundtracks.

You can find artec on myspace here and you can buy the album here.

Stuart and Bruce play at the Big Chill Bar in London together occasionally too as part of Bruce's LUCID night.
