Tom performing lifetracks at the Chill, 2006

Chilled Cider 2007
The Square and Compass
16th - 17th June 2007.

This is now pretty much an annual institution; a gathering of like-minded folks who appreciate good music, fine ciders and great countryside at one of the nicest pubs in the south of England.

The Square and Compass is Pete Lawrence's favorite boozer, and he, Tom Sweet and Chris Bagust have been doing this event now for the past three or four years, all of which (I think) I've attended and performed/DJ'd at.

This one was as lovely as ever, we rocked up on the Friday night, and managed to procure a spot in the car park just up the road from the pub where we've stayed without any problems in the past. This time however, we were rudely awoken at 8am on the Saturday morning by the local church warden insisting that we move at our earliest convenience (it's church-owned land) so we did the correct thing and moved to a nearby campsite.

However, I managed to blag a spot virtually outside the pub front door, as I'd brought a fair amount of equipment down to perform with. I played a lovely live set of alucidnation material on the Saturday afternoon (inside as usual, even though everyone was outside). There were a group of blokes sat at a table inside, which I found initially a bit disconcerting; I couldn't tell whether they were enjoying what I was doing or not, but after I'd finished and was making my way out, they all congratulated me on my performance, which made my day.

I played a DJ set on the Sunday too; as usual a top weekend was had by all; many thanks to Tom and Chris for the equipment as usual!

Silly me; I didn't take any pictures...
