alucidnation at Habitat (!!) Finchley Road

I recall telling a few friends about this one and the majority of people being amazed that I was performing in a store, not least me!

After appearing on a cover mount CD in the best selling homes magazine 'Living Etc' in 2006, Habitat teamed up with them to do a promotion in their flagship stores across the UK near to midsummer's day.

I got to play at the Finchley Road store, whilst other 'Big Chill DJs' got to perform at other places, some as far afield as Leeds and Manchester.

What was planned as a live performance ended up just being a DJ gig for me; the promotion was sadly under-attended, initially billed as being 'invite-only', the staff ended up out on the street almost dragging unsuspecting passers-by in for free booze and discounts!

Still, I enjoyed my set, as did the staff; I played a lot of classic funk and soul.

My highlight of the evening? It was a woman of advanced years coming up to me especially to thank me for the music I was playing! Lovely!
