Tom performing lifetracks at the Chill, 2006

alucidnation DJ support for AMBA at the BFI
The South Bank , London
29th June 2007.

I was invited by my friend Tom Middleton to do some DJ support for him at the British Film Institute where he was premiering his new 'Lifetracks' project.

His debut solo album has been ten years in the making, consisting of compositions inspired by places that he's visited around the globe.

It's a stunning LP as it goes. I'd been working with Tom on the artwork and design for the LP and was fortunate enough to get hold of a copy; it's one of those albums that stands up to repeated listens, in fact it improves with age, like a fine whisky...

The Main Foyer

Anyway, Big Chill Recordings have signed the LP to the label - this event was designed to raise awareness and to debut the visual work that was designed to accompany it as a live piece.

These amazing visuals were prepared by Ben Mason (Red Dog) and Nick Hillel (Yeast) and the gig took place in a sumptuous seated auditorium which was perfect for this.

I played some tunes out in the foyer between the two performances; it was OK but very noisy, hence I couldn't really hear what I was doing; plus I got pretty pissed on the free bar tab.. Pete and Murray also manned the decks along with Tom later that night, although I'd left by that time, trains to catch etc..
